Congratulations to William R. Paterson who has been named an Up & Coming Attorney by Minnesota Lawyer for 2025. This is a well-deserved honor for Will who has been a star on the rise at Anthony Ostlund since joining the firm as a summer associate in 2018.

Will represents individuals and businesses facing complex business disputes, including shareholder, breach of contract, employment, restrictive covenant and intellectual property, and fiduciary duty disputes.
He is also a visible and active representative of Anthony Ostlund and heavily involved in client functions and community engagements well outside normal business hours. He has quickly become a mentor to junior associates and interns, making time to provide thoughtful guidance, help new team members acclimate, and ensure that others feel supported and empowered. He has also taken the lead in recruitment efforts for the firm, helping identify, attract, and retain top-tier talent and being actively involved in the law school on-campus interview process. His involvement in shaping the future of Anthony Ostlund is strategic, enthusiastic, and effective and embodies his strong leadership skills.
Will graduated magna cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School where he was a member of the Order of the Coif. He earned his undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, from the University of St. Thomas. He is a member of the Minnesota State and Hennepin County Bar Associations.
