Shareholders Janel Dressen and Dan Hall will co-present How to Make the Most of Depositions for Minnesota CLE’s How to Navigate Your First (Or Next) Civil Case in Minnesota State Court full-day, in-person seminar on August 21. Designed as a practical overview of key issues and strategies, plus answers to questions that keep civil litigators–and their clients–up at night.
Janel and Dan will discuss tips and strategies in preparing for and conducting fact and expert depositions; preparing clients and third-party witnesses; dealing with hostility from witnesses AND/OR opposing counsel. They will also address the handling of privilege issues and separate proper and improper objections.
Finally, Janel and Dan will get into the things that keep lawyers and clients up at night including what can and can’t be said during depo prep, preparing and working with experts, handling out-of-state witnesses, and what to do if you believe your client has lied or made a mistate in their depo.
